Shaun

Before I left to meet my brothers, I checked on Jenni one last time. She was sleeping peacefully, so I grabbed my surfboard and headed down to the beach.

“You made it.” Stefan smiled.

“Sam’s not here yet?”

“He’s not coming. The twins were up all night.”

“Ah. Poor guy.”

We put our boards in the water and paddled out.

“By the way, we’re having a birthday party at my house next week for our dad, and we’re hoping you’ll come with Jenni,” Sebastian said.

“Thanks. I’m sure it’ll be fun.” I smiled at him.

We surfed, talked, and had a good time.

“You’re pretty good.” Simon patted my back.

“Thanks. You guys are a lot better than I am.”

“We grew up surfing,” Stefan said. “Don’t worry. Stick with us, and you’ll get better.”

I walked back over to my house, and when I opened the sliding door, I saw Jenni standing in front of the coffee maker.

“Morning,” I spoke.

“Shh. No talking until I’ve had coffee.”

I let out a light chuckle as she took her cup and went out to the patio.

After taking a shower and getting dressed, I made a coffee and joined Jenni outside. I needed to know if she remembered what she’d said to me last night.

“Is it okay to talk now?” I asked with a smirk as I sat down next to her.

“Yes.” She glanced over at me with a smile. “I’ve taken two aspirin, had two cups of coffee, and I’m good to go. By the way, did we have sex last night?”

“What do you remember about last night?” I asked.

“The last thing I remember was you carrying me to the house.”

“That’s all you remember?”

“Yeah. Oh my God, what did I do?”

The corners of my mouth curved upward as I felt a sigh of relief.

“I carried you up the stairs, undressed you, and tucked you into bed.”

“So, we didn’t have sex?”

“No. You were passed out cold.” I took a sip of my coffee.

“Sorry about that.”

“Don’t apologize. We all get like that from time to time.” I gave her a wink.

“How was your surf with the boys?”

“It was great. I had a lot of fun. Sebastian told me about their father’s birthday party next week.”

“Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that to you. You will be my date, right?”

“Of course. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” I leaned over and kissed her lips.
